Want Romance? Get Married in Winter
While summer months remain the most popular time for couples to get hitched, don't overlook getting married in winter. In Australia, we have mild wintery days. Temperatures average around 12-15 degrees in the middle of the day (depending on location).
Winter weddings ooze glamour and style (and gorgeous long sleeve wedding dresses!). They are timeless and opulent showing off gorgeous lodges, country estates vineyards, ballrooms and/or intimate restaurants.
When I hear 'Winter Wedding', I think of berry reds and earthy browns mixed with eucalyptus greens and white. All of these colours can be integrated into the bouquets, dresses, cake and stationery.
Not only will your guests will love a hearty roast dinner, they can enjoy wearing fur coats, an open fire, a warming whisky and heating up on the dance floor.
Still not convinced? Here are 5 reasons why winter weddings are becoming more popular:
- No need to fan away the heat AND you have less chance of rain in winter
- Your choice of venue becomes easier as they are more available (and possibly cheaper!)
- Flowers last longer in colder months and will be blooming on your special day
- Your guest's wont swelter in their suits and ladies makeup will stay put all night long!
- Honeymooning in a tropical location straight after your wedding? It's the perfect time to do so and avoid the monsoonal season! You would be travelling during the best month to a tropical location.
Your guests will love seeing you have fun with your theme with hot water bottles on hand, warm blankets and even socks just in-case the groom gets cold feet! ;)
Embrace the cold and cozy up to celebrate love in winter. It's the coolest (and not just literally) season to get married.
